What a Weak Week

Oh what a week it has been! -well, for everyone except the Libertarian party. The official Blog of the Libertarian party (http://www.lp.org/blog) has been busing with daily post, don't get me wrong, but the posts seem strained and deal with obscure issues in my opinion. A perfect example of this, is the post on Oct 8th " what will the NRA do?" which just talks about how the NRA has yet to announce who they will endorse in the presidential election. Here's an article that goes into more detail (http://m.apnews.com/ap/db_7775/contentdetail.htm;jsessionid=90529BF1E5D83DC46BC125F019F86CFE?contentguid=L17Qg6We&full=true#display) - The post just end up talking about how Bob Barr, Bob Barr? - how Bob Barr has always had an A+ track record with the NRA. Not all of the posts lacked direction, the post on Oct 16th announced that the Libertarian party's recent Radio ad is in fact a hit with the public, so much so that Fans have made their own, here it is for your viewing pleasure ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g1_-KKle-1U) *pay close attention to the old woman* - The most recent post deals with a Third Party candidate debate. in the post Mr. Barr announces that he will only debate one man, and one man only, Mr. Nader. I found this a bit aggressive and just mean, I mean whats wrong with a debate against Senator Brad Esposito? ( Kitten08.org).
-So yes it has been quite a week, one weak week.

Politics, Delicious, Delicious Politics.

In my ravenous hunger for keeping up to date on the stances of the American Libertarian Party (and for the sake of passing Political Science), I’ve come across a blog, and I must say this is one is, well its just tops. The blog is updated practically everyday with various stories and events relating to the Libertarian Party and Bob Barr, you know Bob Barr. The site is by Terra Eclipse, which has had a hand in many other political blogs; although sadly after extensive research, I failed in finding any kind of ironic contradiction in the political parties/ politicians they represent with their blogs. I digress; the Blog is actually full with interesting stories. Check it out! http://www.lp.org/blog

This Blog just radiates a feeling of “this is a part of the U.S Government”, which being that it is the official blog of the Libertarian Party brings a smile to my face. The blog isn’t flashy and really just focuses on the stories, which I really like. I don’t want you to think by saying it’s not flashy, that I’m saying it’s in any way, shape, or form not visually appealing, in fact the soft colors and simple text really make it a breeze to read. As I said before this blog is far more “official” then any other blog I’ve come across. It has its own email sign up, an official crest of “The Libertarian Party- 1971”, and what sold it for me, it’s actually on the official web page of the Libertarian party. Last but certainly what makes this blog different is that it’s just CRAM-A-LAMED with mounds and mounds of information on the Libertarian party and their current fights within Washington…SEGUE COMMENCECON!

The latest post by Andrew Davis, you know Andrew Davis (I’m starting to see a trend here) on October 2, 2008 talks about how Senate has passed the Bail out Bill. The post brings up a lot of good reasons we as tax payers (just because my annual income is a whopping annual $1200, doesn’t mean I don’t pay taxes) should be outraged. Apparently the Bill started as a 3 page document, and as “sweeteners/Pork” was added it grew into an obese 451 page document. The sweeteners ranged from more regulations on insurance companies, 192 million dollars to rum producers in Puerto Rico and the Virgin Islands, and to the obscure relief of wooden arrow producers. Now I’m no economist but wooden arrows? At least let us know if their arrows for hunting or for direction! One statement really hit me “Is this taxation without true representation?” I do feel a bit of truth in it. What do you think?
